There is undeniably something fundamentally romantic about vampires. They are at the same time powerful and dangerous, yet tragic figures. Vampire romance novels have taken on new heights in the romance industry…most probably the #1 genre to insatiable readers and lovers of paranormal romance. I enjoy these titillating blood-lust tales myself, making them one of my favorite themes. I am proud to own a nice collection of vampire romance novels.
I have compiled a list of my favorite vampire romance novels. Most are directed towards young adults, but anyone young at heart with an insatiable thirst for vampire romance novels will greatly enjoy these.
COMPANIONS OF THE NIGHT by Vivian Vande Velde
The romantic horror genre reaches a new level of complexity in this vampire romance novel, which manages to be simultaneously thought-provoking and blood-curdling. Kerry becomes the unwitting accomplice of an attractive, mysterious boy on the run, only to discover that he is a vampire. Can she trust her feelings for someone so alien to her? Or has she been “seduced by the glamour of evil”? CLICK HERE FOR MORE
THE SOUTHERN VAMPIRE MYSTERIES by Charlaine Harris
The popular TV series TRUE BLOOD is based on this series of books. In the books the focus is more on Sookie
and less on the series’s supporting actors. The books introduce many different supernatural creatures and goes into far greater detail than the TV show. This is definitely one of my favorite series of vampire romance novels. The stories are sufficiently different for any one who has watched the series to enjoy the books. CLICK HERE FOR MORE
THE VAMPIRE’S KISS by Cynthia Eden
This vampire romance novel is fantastic. Mysterious, romantic, sexy… I couldnít put this book down until I finished it. There are mysteries and danger around every corner. William gives new meaning to the phrase dark
and mysterious and has a sensual attitude that will curl your toes. Savannah is the strong-willed and determined woman intent on capturing her brotherís killer. Together they are dynamite and set out to find a killer before he kills again. This is the first book I have read by Cynthia Eden, but I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books in the future.

THE QUEEN OF THE DAMNED by Anne Rice
You cannot have a list of vampire romance novels without the master of the genre: Anne Rice. In this, perhaps her finest work, the vampire Lestat discovers an Egyptian queen vampire who has been sleeping in her tomb for centuries. Lestat’s passion for love, life and music awakens and restores her from
her century-long slumber. If you saw the movie, don’t be put off. The book is much, much better.
TWILIGHT by Stephanie Meyer
If you haven’t been paying attention, the vampire romance novels TWILIGHT, NEW MOON, ECLIPSE, and BREAKING DAWN have caught on like wildfire. The main draw here is Bella’s infatuation with outsider
Edward, the sense of danger inherent in their love, and Edward’s inner struggleóa perfect metaphor for the sexual tension that accompanies adolescence. These will be familiar to nearly every teen, and will keep readers madly flipping the pages of Meyer’s tantalizing debut.
THE SILVER KISS by Annette Curtis Klause
The Silver Kiss is a haunting, tender, and romantic YA novel. While her mother is dying, a grief-stricken Zoe finds comfort in the presence of a pale, mysterious young man, the only one who truly understands
the pain she is experiencing. 300 years ago, Simon’s mother was murdered by his brother and he is determined to exact revenge from his brother, the personification of evil. All of the universal themes are in this popular vampire romance novel.
THE DEN OF SHADOWS QUARTET by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
This book includes IN THE FOREST OF THE NIGHT, DEMON IN MY VIEW, SHATTERED MIRROR, and MIDNIGHT PREDATOR. These are the first four books Amelia Atwater-Rhodes wrote. All four are good
vampire books. They introduce Atwater-Rhodes’ vampire world from four different points of view (a vampire, a human born from a vampire, a witch/vampire hunter, and a human vampire hunter who was a part of a vampire slave trade). Definitely a must-read for avid fans of vampire romance novels.
VAMPIRE KISSES by Ellen Schreiber
Vampire Kisses is a series of vampire romance novels written by Ellen Schreiber which consist of seven books.
The series itself revolves around the relationship of a goth girl named Raven Madison and her vampire boyfriend Alexander Sterling and the conflicts they must overcome to stay together.
HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE by Jeaniene Frost
With compelling writing and a new twist on the classic vampire mythos, HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE swept
me in from the first page. Sympathetic characters, a foreboding and moody world, kick-butt action, and deliciously dark and forbidden romance abound. HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE is sure to please fans of vampire romance novels.
